We've had a countdown for the last 5 days.....
BUT...We've been talking about turning 3 for months now....
And the morning finally arrived. Tanner ran out the night before and grabbed a cake, present and a few balloons....we can only pull this off a few more years:!
John Tanner's been riding the neighbors scooter for the past few weeks. Well... he's been riding his scooter and bike without peddles. He decided he liked the scooter the best. So, like every morning he ran out of room saying, "I want to ride T's scooter...."
I told him to come to the kitchen before going outside....
PURE JOY and EXCITEMENT!!!
We sang Happy Birthday and ate cake for breakfast!
He got his first "green" scooter. He wanted a red one, but we convinced him that the green one was the FASTEST!!

And he was off... around the house, down the alley, and hasn't been off of it since. He rode it into his bedroom last night and parked it beside his bed. He LOVES his new green scooter(understatement).
Walker turned 17 months today and is WANTING cake NOW!!!
He's like me... He digs right in with his hands!!! Tanner and John Tanner sit nicely and cut their cake and eat it with a fork...no hands or face to wash.
Now he's Happy....

We are spending more time in the front yard
And street in order to ride the scooter....play in the rocks....
And water....

John Tanner also got an "old school CD player" and Bob Segar "Old Time Rock and Roll" CD. He loves playing CDs from his music class, color songs and VBS music....He's a music kind of guy!!
Thanks for all the text, video birthday wishes, and voicemails. This video message from my Dad was the best... He knows how to play guitar "a little", but he sang Happy birthday while Old Time Rock and Roll was playing in the background.... That's a keeper and one to document!!! Thanks Pappaw Roy!!
We walked to the village with our new neighbors for a birthday dinner. JT and their son T rode their scooters. This was the highlight of the evening....

Happy 3rd Birthday John Tanner.....
It was like Christmas morning!!! You woke up and you were SO surprised. You first noticed the cake, blew out the candle, then licked the icing off the number 3 candle and said, "look at my balloons Mommy!!!" It wasn't overwhelming...it was simple and sweet....!!!
When you opened your gift, you couldn't believe you had your own scooter!!!! It was such an exciting, memorable, Monday morning. It was worth every sleepless night, and fear I ever had about am I doing this "right" kind of parent....
It was PURE JOY....I sat in the moment and smiled....We all smiled and celebrated YOU!!
We love you so much and you bring so much JOY to our lives!!
