~Sleeping through the night~
"The book" says it takes 3 nights to form a new habit.  Well... how about 3 weeks..plus?
Week 1- He slept through the night 2 full nights and then we let him "cry it out" one night...only 30 mins.  His 4 mth doctor appointment was the next morning and Dr. Stone said he would "surrender" to let him keep CIO...(never tell Tanner that).  Well... needless to say... we had no idea that this sweet baby would NOT surrender. I'm tough but this was not working. He wasn't waking up wanting to eat, so we thought he was ready.
Week 2- We unswaddled his hands because he was rolling over and was getting stuck.  Night after night we would either let him try and figure it out or help him roll back over.  He was happiest when he was on his side, the bunny blanket in his hand and patting him on his bottom.  This would put him fast asleep. For some reason, this week he wanted to eat more at night.  He went to bed at 6 and woke up to eat at 12... which was fine.. but wanted to eat again at 3 or 4...so he was sleeping good the first part of the night, but up a lot in the AM.
Week 3- He started sleeping on his stomach.... not suppose to do that??? He no longer wanted to be on his side.  He wanted you to pat him on his bottom...again, he would fall fast asleep.  I read an article about "sleep feeding." You feed them while they are still asleep..so we would do this every night about 10pm because he would normally wake up at 12.  This worked for a few days, but started refusing the bottle.
Week 4- NO swaddle... he has to be able to move around.  Tanner and I laugh, share our new ideas and say...this too shall pass!!  We do whatever works...maybe he has hit a growth spurt, or we started the sleeping through the night at the same time he started rolling over.

Emme and Koko came to visit this month.
John Tanner LOVES his Koko. OH my.. Emme and I would say he has nothing to do with us when she is here.
John Tanner telling KoKo to sit... by pointing to the floor saying, Koko!
John Tanner's Favorite Author
Mr. Eric at Hoover Library.... Pete the Cat
He loves WaWa's jumpy thing.... great thing to do when it's 104 outside!
Turning 5 months and 2 years old this month has been incredible.
We are going to do LOTS of traveling in July....we are all happy and ready to see the family and friends!!
